What an Election Actually Costs
Fighting every region in Scotland is not free. Here is what it takes to put independence on the ballot.
Each regional list requires a £500 deposit with the Electoral Commission. Returned if the list gets 5% of the vote.
The ListVote strategy means standing in every region. That means deposits, materials, and infrastructure across Scotland.
19 days from now. Nominations close in 16 days. There is no time to wait.
Why Your Pledge Matters
No Money Today
This is a pledge of intent – not a donation. No card details. No payment. When a compliant mechanism is established, you choose whether to follow through.
Proof of Readiness
Every pledge is a signal. To the leadership, to the Electoral Commission, to Scotland: the membership is ready to fight and ready to fund it.
Fully Compliant
When donations open, they will comply fully with Electoral Commission regulations. No funds will be collected until a lawful mechanism is in place.
Electoral Timeline
Nominations close 1 April. The election is 7 May.
Every day without pledged backing is a day the leadership can claim there is no support. Prove them wrong.
You’re Not Donating. You’re Declaring Intent.
No payment is taken. You are telling Alba – and Scotland – that you are ready to back the fight when the time comes.
Important
This is a non-binding pledge of intent. No payment will be taken at this stage. Political donations in the UK are subject to Electoral Commission regulations. The Alba Continuation Group will establish a compliant donation mechanism before collecting any funds. You will be contacted at the email address provided.
Already Pledged?
The next step is to sign the declaration and make your voice count. Every name strengthens the case that Alba should fight.
